Illuminante, intrigante, sconcertante. Sinceramente mi ha passato un po' di quella inquietudine che muoveva Pirandello, l'idea che il Sè non esista, frammentato nelle immagini che ognuno si fa di noi.

Despite the sheer repetitiveness of much of it, and the brain-hurting language that made it tough to follow on occasion, it was still good in a Philosophy 101 kind of way.

Gli intricati ragionamenti di Moscarda sono fenomenali, è stupendo perdersi dietro ai suoi "deliri" e seguire le profonde riflessioni su chi siamo, come ci vediamo noi e come ci vedono gli altri, quante persone diverse "vivano" in noi. Avevo solo un vago ricordo di quest'opera ed è stata una piacevole ri-lettura (primo ascolto? ripasso?), per quanto io abbia sempre parecchie difficoltà nel seguire romanzi in formato audio. Ho scelto questo libro perché ha pochi personaggi e una trama molto semplice, ma finisce sempre che mi distraggo quando cerco di "fermare" nella mia testa una frase bella che, col libro in mano, rileggerei (o quantomeno farei risuonare un attimo prima di proseguire nella lettura) e quindi non mi godo appieno l'opera come si meriterebbe.

An existential tramp through the hallways and corners of our individualized perceptions of reality. Grateful for Pirandello for poking holes in the assumed normality of our shared conception of self, and deflating the oft overwhelming and looming big questions of identity with his frankness and wit.
