What a wonderful middle grade magical adventure!
It was a lot to pack into one book, so the length may deter some readers. It was also a bit predictable in that you could tell good would triumph over evil, but I'm fine with that in a children's book. I felt like the author's attempts to humanize the Wolf King were a little too little, too late. But overall still a solid 3/5 I would say for me, and I think kids will like it even more. Fans of animal fantasy will love Fox's character and the magical bond between monsters and witches!

Claire Legrand is an author I discovered last year. She is an author I started to read this year. She is also fast becoming one of my favorite authors of all time. Each of her stories are so well crafted and written with so much heart. Foxheart keeps this trend going but definitely on the lighter note of things.
Foxheart is so much fun and witty and just gave me everything I needed. I have been struggling with reading lately, however Foxheart brought the reading bug back out because I couldn't put this book down.
The world was well crafted, characters well developed, fun magic system, adventurous story. It was molded and structured beautifully. A middle grade novel at its heart and a book I highly recommend to anyone looking for a light fluffy read.

After reading Furyborn I wanted to read everything Legrand wrote. This one was enjoyable but nothing compared to Furyborn. 4🌟 because it was enjoyable.

I simply can’t finish this. Reminds me of the girl who circumnavigated fairyland which I also couldn’t finish.

Ths imaginative quest-novel has everything a reader could wish for—witches, ghosts, magic, time-travel, cunning plans, exciting battles, even unicorns! It's very well-paced, starting off with a jolt of terror and taking the ragtag group of heroes through a number of surprising and suspenseful twists and turns, then building to a shattering conclusion. The characters are not always conventionally heroic, but they will have you rooting for them as they face extraordinary odds, impossible choices, and sometimes heartbreaking results.
