Well, that was a ride. The book although outdated in some parts (rsh, cvs, tar-to-tape, etc), still captures very many good tips and nice tricks and walks you through all the main tools present in any Unix system.

If I may say something that took me down a little was that emphasis on explain every single shell script to be ported to other shell interpreters other than Bash (ksh, csh, etc.).

Overall, a good read, though, perhaps quite lengthy, I can say that the subject has been "well covered".

A bit outdated (e.g., telnet) but tremendously useful nevertheless.

It's okay. They all die at the end though.

Okay, kidding. I haven't cracked open this book for 10 years, but damn if I didn't need it at first.
