a very beautiful conversation about humanity, family, and how our own feelings of otherness/individuality conflict with our wider perceptions of the world as a mass culture

criticisms of the selfishness of pacifism and the true humanity of violence balance each other very well and remain poignant
it's a very enjoyable read and is executed so beautifully, it's only detraction comes from the long long philosophical monologues on the meaning of life- both sides points have already been frequently underlined in the overarching plot so it's not majorly needed
