[reread] Finally tracked down a copy of this one again. Gaelyn Gordon's books were hugely formative for me and it's criminal how many are out of print. This is a light, fast, fun read, with exactly the bloodthirsty yet cartoonish in impact type of violence that was so common in late 80s early 90s kidlit downunder. (I don't think it's a coincidence Home Alone a) came out at this time or b) was so popular.) Fun, very recognisably Kiwi, and now I'm gonna have to try and find the sequel again somewhere.
