Good murder mystery! I think the main flaw is that it is a little bit dismissive of the date r*pe and sexual harassment because we gotta get on with solving the mystery. Those are topics that, for me personally, do not work when brought up as secondary plot lines. They’re just too complicated, weighty, and real.

Actual Rating: 4.5/5 stars

I have been struggling to read most of my physical reads so I went ahead and continued this book as an audiobook. So here is my honest review:

This book was nuts! Pip was a very interesting, albeit frustrating protagonist at times. There were times in which I was screaming for her to not do some of the things she did but at the same time I have to remember she is like 18 years old or so lol. I really loved Ravi as a character and he was honestly the best part of this book imo. I did guess correctly that Mr. Ward was involved but I will admit I didn’t catch just how involved Becca (Andie’s little sister) was in all of it. I do think it was interesting that Becca turned out to be the person behind the actual disappearance of her sister (though it can be easily said that it was Mr. Ward’s fault for causing the head injury in the first place). Still her and Mr. Ward are equal parts responsible in my eyes. A crazy and eventful read overall though. Now I guess I can watch the Netflix adaptation of this book lol, hopefully it doesn’t suck!

And to the reason for there being .5 taken off the rating, that is for the unnecessary death of Pip’s dog Barney
