Realised I just wasn't enjoying this! Didn't care how it ended and was bored. The characters were nice and varied. But just not for me.

Audiobook - 4 hours 27 minutes - I absolutely adored this book. I love all of the characters a lot, especially Sky, the main character. When I first started reading this, I thought his voice and narrative might be annoying but I ended up loving reading from his perspective. All of the side characters were incredibly likeable and 3-dimensional as well, and didn't feel like diversity for the sake of diversity. The plot was also a pleasant surprise - often LGBTQ YA contemporary books have a similar sort of plot, which isn't inherently a bad thing, but this book was a refreshing change. While it wasn't that dissimilar to the standard plot, there were multiple side-plots that focused on different sets of characters which made the book feel more realistic. And I loved the ending with my whole heart.

Honestly I wasn’t sure about it at the start, which seems ridiculous now having finished it.  The first two chapters I had to push myself to read them, but after that I was fully invested.  Even though I’m not a huge fan of first person POV, it was absolutely stunning.

I loved all the friendships and characters themselves, Sky might not have had a good (or decent) family biologically speaking but his friends have genuinely became his family and it was very beautifully done.

I'd also just like to say Marshall seriously is such a good friend (and Bree and the others—don't get me wrong) but Marshall being a wingman near the end had me laughing at how his "annoying" relationship questions at the beginning were given a different context near the end.

And I can't forget to mention the iconic line: "Gay for franch fries," by Christina, because same.
