i picked out this book cause i heard it was similar to the diviners series, which I love. So i had high hopes that this book did not live up to. I struggled to get through this book and nearly DNFed it a couple times, but i did finish it. I just did not find it intriguing. Also there was at least one usage of the g slur and some harmful rhetoric in this which was disappointing. Overall I can’t recommend this book, it was just a little bland. , it is physically a very pretty book though.
