Rae was truly TSTL, I was constantly shook by her choices. I still really enjoyed the book and am interested in reading the rest of the trilogy. Love the small town, PNW, cult, and witchy vibes. I think if you liked Twilight as a teen, you would like this as an adult, lol.

I give it 5 stars for the plot, the world building, and a few of the characters.

I loved Rae in the beginning because of the Paranormal investigation stuff, and she seemed like she'd be a cool character. As the book went on, she got to be a little annoying. Overall it was an amazing book, probably one of my faves of all time.

The book was awesome plot wise like it’s up there real close to Haunting Adeline (my fav book ever). This was filled with tension on a level that kept you wondering what the hell was going to happen next gahhh it was splendid. I felt like Inayas fiancé was mention so many times though. Like on an abridgment side of things it was just really unnecessary to the plot. I 110% could have cared less about Inaya like her whole character was based on watching a cat. Also I thought there would be another steamy scene at the very end. Needless to say I was found dissatisfied. Also I feel this would end a lot quicker if Leon knew how to operate a gun.

Look the smut in this is so spectacular. Was the plot spectacular? Not as much, and the ending kinda made it pointless? BUT the relationship was great, and  the alley? And the marking? Chefs fucking kiss, grade A, sell my soul level smut.

Harley is obviously a very talented writer, I enjoyed Raes character and a couple of the spicy scenes were really good. But for me the Deadly monster falls for the girl against their nature is just a painful trope for me at this point.
The fact I carried on reading is a testimant to Harleys skillful writing of a plot that kept me interested until it tied itself up beautifully at the end.
I would read her other books including the ones in this series.

I really enjoyed this book but not just for the NSFW content the story was great and the horror elements added a wonderful extra layer to the story. I loved the plot and the story flowed really well. Just what I needed for a fast fun read.

I found this book really enjoyable - I felt like I was in the small town, LaRoux painted a very descriptive setting using the weather to convey the tone and atmosphere of different moments. I enjoyed the occult and demonic theme of the plot too.

I was expecting this book to be straight up smut, but was pleasantly surprised that there was an intriguing and mysterious plot woven throughout. Rae was a really great FMC who was curious to a fault, naïve yet brave. Leon was seriously hot and a great morally dark MMC - his humour and sarcasm had me laughing at times and I loved their relationship.

I thought the spice was great! Very sexy - I've read a few of LaRoux's books now and I'm always really pleased with how seriously takes consent during spicy scenes. There was consent and trust throughout every single moment between Leon and Rae despite many moments being quite aggressive and role playing non-consent. Because of this, I was able to fully enjoy these scenes without any doubt or concerns over whether it's problematic or not. Other dark romance writers should take note!!
