I have issues with this book... There were a lot of time jumps within chapters that weren't obvious and I had to read a few paragraphs again to make sure I hadn't skiped anything.
I did not find the caracters particularly likable. During Eliot's chapters his moods weren't well explained. He was always pissed during Kate's chapters. I also found it hard to believe that he didn't have an PA/cook/house manager or that he hadn't read the sale contract proprely and that his lawyer never mentionned the animals.
He left Kate to see the mysterious painter!?!? He needed a week to think things over!?!?!
The ending is farfetched. Kate is the actual painter, really?!?! She was that good as a teenager and
nobody realized at that time!?!? And the mysterious 'balerina' is her sister!?!?!
And yet, I couldn't put it down. So 3 stars

I hate when a series comes to end but when the last book was a big disappointment it breaks my heart even more! I haven't been this disappointed about a book since The queen of nothing by holly black.
