Thanks to netgalley for the chance to read this book.
Another instalment in the borrow a bookshop. This time the bookshop is recovering from a flood that destroyed all its stock. The temporary bookseller joy arrives with her daughter. Her focus is to bring the shop into the future using her tech expertise. She is adamant she won’t be staying in after her time at the bookshop until her daughter befriends Monty the cook at the local village pub. Joy finds her heart softening to both Clove Lore and Monty and has to decide if she continues to run from her past and settle in Clove Lore.

This is fine as a stand-alone, but it is part of a series, so don't expect much background for the locals.
Without that, Minty is annoying. Perhaps I would understand her better if I had read her story. I think what I liked the most about this book is the borrow-a-bookshop idea.
It's a cozy, romantic story and follows the standard arc. The "big argument" scene actually has some pathos to it. For once it's about a serious misstep, not a miscommunication that could be easily cleared up. The issue is not their feelings but of understanding.
Many of the characters follow parallel plot lines.
I intend to read the other two in this series.

🔹 My take: 4/5
💖 Wow, I want to read all the books in Borrow-a-bookshop series. The warmth with which Clove Lore residents welcomed Joyce & Radia was adorable. I liked Joyce & Monty so much. Their chemistry was very real and not forced at all. Also, the emotional part at the end where the family reunites was very touching. And I liked role of Joyce’s sister too. The long walks that Joyce takes with her mom, Monty and then opens her heart to Jowan all felt so genuine. I found this book very heart warming and that’s what romances should make you feel generally.
💫 I want copies of the other books in this series…is anyone listening? 😄
Thanks to @hera_books, @kileydunbarauthor and @Netgalley for sharing eARC in exchange for honest review.
