This was a very long book that doesn’t really serve a purpose. It was entertaining, but so much of it was fluff and it felt like the author went in circles forever. Makes me a little nervous for the 5th book, seeing as it feels as though the series should end sooner rather than later. Fortuna needs to make a damn decision.

This was good but about 400 pages to long. I enjoyed how Fortuna learned more about her powers but there were plot lines that weren’t needed or scenes that could have been cut out completely.

3,5 stars.

Oh god, the story became so much more convoluted, I highly doubt there will be a satisfactory ending. There’s too much going on, there were too many pages, too much love for boring AF Collith, and I really dislike that Fortuna’s powers grow to/turn out to be deity-level nonsense. Maybe the chosen one trope just isn’t for me? Not if it gets an entire series to evolve into off the charts overpoweredness…

I really, really hope it’ll all still come together somehow, though, (with Laurie and Ollie and no Collith).

Overall this was good to read just like the rest of the fortuna sworn series. However, it just felt long!
Took a long while to get going with fortuna being held captive in Belanor’s castle for almost 200 pages. Once freed the pace picked up pretty quick and was exciting and thrilling to read. Love all the twists and turns these books take and they always keep you guessing
The romances between fortuna, collith, Laurie, and Oliver and getting dragged. Never really felt her and Oliver and now things are moving on just want her to chose one and be happy.
Can tell it was difficult to get into this book because of how longgggg it took to read but by the end it’s left me excited to read the next
Was close to 4* but didn’t grip me the same as the last book

I have no clue what happened in most of this book. All I know is that I was heartbroken, entertained and loved seeing these characters. This definitely was way too long, not well plotted and this main love interest is horrible but I still can’t wait to read the next one.

I really enjoy this book series and this book didnt disappoint I think the 3.5 star rating is mainly just because I felt this book was very much a filler book leading us to the next place.
These books give me a really big sookie stackhouse books vibe with Collith being the Bill in this scenario as the initial first love who betrayed Fortuna and Laurie being Eric who cares more about his status than he could about her. However i do think Laurie is more redeemable than Eric and i do hope it's who she ends up with.
Excited to see what the next book brings.

Each of these books has just gotten bigger and bigger. This one being 706 pages long, however I still loved it. This one starts where book 3 ended, with Fortuna being held captive in the Seelie Court. There is a lot that goes on in this book. Torture, fighting, escapes, making a bond with a vampire and a werewolf. Fortuna eventually sleeps with Laurie while still being in love with Collith, even though she denies it and wants to hate him, but you can tell she is falling in love with Laurie as well. There are so many other magical creatures that get introduced in this book. As well as trying to beat an unknown opponent, a fair bit of this book is spent in the Dreamscape with Oliver. Here she must fight magical creatures her mother used to tell her stories about when she was a child, in order to reach hidden childhood memories. Oliver stands by her side and he is fiercely loyal and protective of her. Again we are left with a cliffhanger ready for book 5 which is hopefully out December 2022.
