Siena will continue to keep me in a chokehold with this series.

Her way of writing her books had the ability to captivate my attention from the very start. With "Surprise for the Sniper", I loved that it was a second chance, hockey romance. Liv and Benji had been through a lot of things, but a baby wasn't on their bingo card. Liv decided to keep the baby a secret so that Benji pursued his dreams, which could be seen as selfish, but it was admirable to me. She didn't want him to hold himself back from pursuing his dreams. There were a lot of moments in the story that really touched me, but one of them is Siena's way of making you fall in love with her play of words. So many beautiful quotes were highlighted in many moments that really touched my heart. This read was a slow burn, but it really made sense to be a slow burn to really share Liv's and Benji's past.present and future in a raw & organic way. Their character growth from beginning to end really warmed my heart and this book really gave me all of the feels!

Favorite quote:
“Knox brought us back together, sure, but my stumbling upon him allowed me a second chance with you. I’m with you because I can’t help loving you.”

I volunteer as tribute for the WHOLE SERIES. MY HEART MAN.

My first book by this author, and it will not be my last. There’s a whole series I want to read featuring characters present here.
Benji and Liv both had their issues, but for me that’s what made the book better as they were dealing with everyday things we all do…you know besides Benji’s hockey millions. That’s a problem I wouldn’t mind having.

Well, Siena Trap has done it again with another wonderful story. It was a realistic story with a slow burn and the characters were wonderful. Olivia the MFC was a mom trying to do the right thing while keeping her son safe. Benji the MMC was the small-town boy making his dream come true and becoming a hockey star. Brought back together through a chance hockey sign-up for youth. The story shows both characters dealing with things from the past and things they had to sort through to make a future together. It was a great second-chance romance. Highly recommend.

Met my best expectations!

I was super excited for this read, especially given the the foreshadowing from Bagging the Blueliner, and it delivers!

I enjoyed every moment of this book, as it has a great storyline and wonderful characters.

This one is for the single parent trope lovers, and has spice, banter, surprises, first love and characters that are flawed and feel real.

This book is a great read!

This book was so well written.

It follows the story and history of Liv, a single mother, and Benji, a playboy hockey star.

It shows realistic relationship ups and downs, the struggles of both Liv, going through a pregnancy alone and raising a child as a single mother with the support of her family, and Benji, battling through childhood traumas.

The spice was on the lower side, but the chemistry between the two was still amazing.

It tells a beautiful story of second chances, showcasing the growth both characters go through.

It was nice to read a more realistic romance with lots of maturing and emotional growth in the characters!

An emotional slow burn second chance story
Both of our main characters have had some rough times. Benji was abandoned by his father after the death of his mother, and Liv hid her teen pregnancy from everyone so that Benji could have his shot at escaping their small town through his talent playing hockey. Their emotional baggage stands between them when secrets get revealed in this slow burn spicy second chance romance.
I liked the fact that once everything is revealed, it wasn't instant forgiveness. The character journey of getting to that point was really well done. The Liv and Benji we meet in the beginning are not the same people at the end, and it all makes sense how he gets there. The healing isn't easy, but it's believable. There are times you want to smack Benji in the back of the head and tell him to get over himself.
I also want to acknowledge the body diversity portrayed in this book. In a lot of books I've read with "curvy" or "plus size" heroines, they are still described in ideals. Most often they are portrayed as blessed in the bra as an acceptable trade off for their size. As a plus size woman who is not built that way, to see something different was great. My blessings are similar to Liv's in the book, and I really appreciated seeing a character who isn't a Jessica Rabbit style of "curvy" with idealized larger shape still being seen as desirable.
Overall I enjoyed this read for the depth of the characters and overall plot and pacing. Thank you to the author for the ARC and chance to review.

She’s done it again !!!

Oh man…this book had me in ALL my feels. Benji is THE book boyfriend everyone needs!! I absolutely ADORED this man and the way he loved Knox and Liv. I was not prepared at all for the chokehold this story had me in.

When I read Bagging the Blueliner, it took me a bit to develop a taste for Hannah and Cal (mostly Hannah..she is certainly an acquired taste
