So cute! Such a sweet and caring story. I actually liked the characters, and cared about them. I did not feel too attached (which was good for me), and saw a lot of what was coming (predictable story), but it did NOT made it less enjoyable.
I was worried at times about the state of their relationship and exactly how it would go down, and I saw so many ways they can fuck this up, espacially the state of their availability to each other, but it mostly hit the right marks.
I loved how Kelly reviled the past and all these bits of information through the story, kept me on my toes.
Fun, light read

I am actually giving this book a rating of 3.5. The reason is because it started out great, the story kept building up at a good pace but around 70% in the book took a downfall and, while the ending made up for it, it still bothered me.

Truth Or Dare is an interesting story. I enjoyed reading it a lot, even with its faults. Maggie is a free-spirited woman who, unfortunately got wronged by a guy she was in love with and she swore to never get serious about anyone again. Once Tyler comes in the picture, she can't help but re-think her decision. Tyler is a great male character that I learned to love but disliked for a while. The reason being he has a secret and instead of putting it in the past and figuring out another solution, he sticks by it, hurting Maggie in the process. And I didn't like how Maggie just accepted him back without a second thought. I know they love each other but staying accepting him so easily without letting him make an effort to gain her back didn't sit well with me.

Besides from the faults I mentioned, the story was great. It was slow paced but it fit perfectly with the setting of the story. I am looking forward to Touch & Go, which has the story of Ava and Sam, two characters that the reader gets to meet in Truth Or Dare—two characters that I completely love.

Truth or Dare by Mira Lyn Kelly was a love story about learning to move on and finding true love.
Maggie had her wedding canceled in one of the most heartbreaking and embarrassing ways and has sworn off love forever.
Tyler has had his heart broken by his ex girlfriend and the baby he thought was his.
When Tyler moves to get away from his heartbreak he find himself with a new downstairs neighbor that is hard to resist. As they get to know each other they become friends and eventually more. But can Tyler really move on and forget the baby he hopes to have back in his life? And can Maggie learn to trust again?
This was a really good book that I truly enjoyed reading. I would definitely recommend this book.

I found this book because it's featured in the Chapters: Interactive Stories app by Crazy Maple Studios. I was impatient for the whole thing to be released--hence my excitement when I realized it was available on kindle.

This is a pretty short book that I was able to finish in a few hours, but that was one of its selling points for me. I don't read a lot of contemporary romance, because it seems the barriers to two characters being together, in a modern world, are often angsty, overdrawn, and implausible...or just make the characters look dumb. This book not only had a solid concept/male lead motivation, but it never left the characters lingering for too long in that annoying "JUST TALK ALREADY" zone.

I really enjoyed both characters, their backstories, and how they interacted with each other. I loved Tyler in particular. Totally my catnip.

Solid 4 stars. I'd read this again if I wanted something quick and satisfying.

Solid writing, good characters, and an interesting story this book was definitely a good read. Nothing earth shattering but a nice read that I would totally recommend to others.

Maggie, to placate her BFF Ava, makes a pact to date at least once a month for a year, or pay for spa treatments. Tyler is living next door to Maggie and isn’t looking for a relationship either. Then, romance!

The Good
-Very sexy: excellent sexual chemistry between Maggie and Tyler and the anticipation leading up to a physical relationship was very well done.
-Likeable leads: Tyler and Maggie are sympathetic and have a good friendship established before sex happens.
-Plausible emotional baggage: Tyler’s reason for not being available for a relationship was very sweet, a bit unexpected. Maggie being gun shy was laid out well and when things turned it was handled in a mature manner, yet very angsty, which I liked.
-Enjoyable secondary characters: I like Ava, Sam and Ford. Their friendship was wacky but fun, and I can see Ava/Sam hooking up in the next book.

The Bad and Everything In Between
-More show vs tell on their earlier conversations would have been helpful when they were getting to know one another.
-The plot is a bit thin: once you get past Tyler and Maggie’s issue (which is essentially the same thing - severe case of tunnel vision), it’s a bit thin. There’s almost no real background set up for either Maggie or Tyler. They could exist in a vacuum and their professional lives would have almost no impact on the story. Maggie’s conflict was work-related, but even that was more for plot’s sake.
-Title doesn't really fit: It's more about the pact than any game of truth or dare, but perhaps it's just catchy IDK.

The Bottom Line (3.5 stars)
The chemistry between all the characters and the dialogue made this an enjoyable read. I’ve never read anything by Ms. Kelly, but I’d definitely read more.

4 holy-sexual-tension Stars!

Sharp dialogue, readable prose, interesting characters -- it hit all the right points for me.

Tyler recently upended his life in New York to move to Chicago to get back his ex-girlfriend and a son that wasn't his biologically but loved nonetheless. He moved into Maggie's apartment building. Maggie, being a good neighbor welcomed Tyler with a plate of cookies and Tyler totally misread the situation and ended up insulting Maggie.

I just loved all the characters except Gina of course. I totally got the Singles vibes in this book with the whole apartment building set-up. Maggie had a heart breaking back story which totally explained why she shies away from any serious relationship. Tyler also had shitty luck when it comes to his love life. The only bright spot was his son who turned out to be not his because his ex totally cheated on him. He was willing to give his son everything including staying with his son's mother instead he lost him when his ex decided to play house with her new boyfriend who happens to be his boy's real dad. My heart just broke for him.

Overall, I really liked this book and I hope that this will turn out to be a series because I'm interested to know more about Maggie and her neighbors!
