A quick and enjoyable read, although a bit boring and...meh. Not too exciting or heart-racing, although I did find myself continuing to turn the page to find out *who did it*. Worth my time, but not the best thriller I’ve read!

While some of this book was a bit predictable, I still really enjoyed it. I found myself sympathizing with the characters and actually connected with them.

A fast-paced page-turning thriller.

SYNOPSIS:

Fleeing a past trauma, Kirsty and her family seek refuge by investing and moving into a Welsh guesthouse, only to have her world upended by the arrival of her first guest, someone from her past. With dark secrets lurking, Kirsty must confront her fears or risk a deadly outcome.

MY THOUGHTS:

- Claire Douglas always guarantees a good page-turner
- Short chapters and fast-paced plot
- Lots of side stories that keep you wondering where the heck the story is going (in a good way) and if they are connected
- I'd say for about 3/4 of the book I had no idea who was doing what or was responsible for some of the things going on.
- I did start to get an inkling of where it was going closer to the end, but I never quite guessed it
- It was far-fetched in its twists but I went with it!
