Only other Gaiman books I've read are Coraline and Stardust when I was a child. What a difference! It's wonderful how well Gaiman can write to each intended audience with the same style of writing. Loved the concepts of divinity and life, will carry this for a while.

I got about 40% through the talking book and I decided this wasn't the book for me. I wanted to like it, so I gave it a bit longer than what I normally would with any other book but unfortunately it wasn't holding my attention.
I kept thinking "Ok, so where is the story going, and what exactly does all this lead to..." in the end I decided I didn't care and that's why I gave up.

It took me about 3 or 4 times to read this book, for some reason could not get past first 100pages and this time finally did and very happy I did.

Now that I have read it what Neil wrote (it's a signed copy) on my book makes sense. When I was reading the scenes that were a bit spooky gave me goosebumps. Neil really makes you feel like you are there. I may have to read Anansi Boys again and do look forward to reading more of Neil's books.

I wanted to like it, but unfortunately this one just didn't do it for me. Too slow, disjointed, weird. Just not my style.
