So much tell, so little show. So many things are explained, why not show them? I don't want a lecture in your worldbuilding, I want a novel.
I think the idea of this book is very original. Ik just didn't enjoy the writing style, it's not for me.

Another great vampire book but this one has a twist, a strong female lead on a quest for revenge against the vampire King of France in an alternate timeline 300 years ago. I found this really unique with the worldbuilding and learning about how the French court and royalty works in that world (although I assume some of it is true). I did think it lagged a bit in parts with a tell not show style of writing making it harder too get engaged fully into the story however I know this is a translation so it may be due to that. But overall this is a strong start to a series and a unique premise.

Je suis complètement passée à côté de cet ouvrage. Là protagoniste m’agace, elle fait des choix spontanés et puérils, elle est une ado tête de mule que je déteste !
L’univers et ses décisions sont un peu prévisibles. Je ne me suis pas sentie à fond dans cette immersion.
Les retournements de situations de la fin ne m’ont pas convaincu à poursuivre ma lecture..

Odotukset eivät olleet kovin korkealla tämän suhteen. Toivoin lähinnä sopivan hömppää vampyyridraamailua. Yllätyin kuitenkin iloisesti kun kirjan maailma ja juoni olivatkin yllättävän kiinnostavat. Päähenkilö on sopivasti vinksahtanut ja viihdyin tarinan parissa sen verran hyvin, että luen varmasti jatko-osankin.
