Entertaining, but I wouldn't recommend sitting down and reading it cover-to-cover. I enjoyed it most in smaller, parceled sessions.

No comic has ever understood me more. I'll miss it.

It's irreverent. It's weird. It's dark. It's confusing. It's heart breaking. It's heartwarming. It's spiky and poky. It's four panels and a punchline, sometimes containing an actual punch. ASW isn't for everybody, but it's very much for me.

I stumbled across A Softer World near the end of its run, so many of the strips collected here were brand new to me. It's a great collection of a wonderful webcomic, alternately (and sometimes simultaneously) funny, creepy, sweet, depressing, insightful, disturbing, heartwarming, and sad.

A great use of photos and text.

Witty reading, and a beautiful book.

Don't forget to read the alt text!

I got this ages ago through their Kickstarter (I am one of those glorious GOLD BACKERS in the back of the book), and man, I didn't realize how much I missed A Softer World until now. Doing the big final book as a "best of" was a great choice, and the ASW edge is on fine display here. To toot my own horn one more time, I'm glad I helped make this thing happen.
