This book is a filler in all senses of the word and may pass for readable on a beach vacation but thats about it. I enjoyed DaVinci Code and it's been downhill since. To top it off Langdon comes off as a complete dick. Most of the conversations end with him saying something like "Well...you would know where the next clue is if you studied Dante like I did."
If I was on the run with him I'd probably punch him in the face.

It was really hard for me to get into the last installment of the Robert Langdon series, but towards the end--and I mean the very end--it held my attention and made it easier to get through.

About 6 years ago, I was reading "The Da Vinci Code" and found it a gripping story. This is my second book by Dan Brown, and the style is very repetitive: the events of a day or two in 600 pages with a lot of escapes and riddles. What I found gripping at a younger age seems rather boring now. Nonetheless, I really enjoyed learning about different cultural sites and their history. The subject of overpopulation is also an interesting one; however, the topic is discussed at a very superficial level. No alternative solutions to the problem are suggested. I know, the author does not have to; but that would increase the educational value of the book, given that it is neither a literary masterpiece nor very entertaining.
