This was a cute story, and I loved the gymnastics theme. However, I feel the plot was very predictable. I knew what would happen before it did which made for a quick read, but just not great.

Both charming and sweet and also deftly handed some intense topics. I liked this one!

This book felt like a classic rom-com while addressing the issues that have appeared in the sport for years. I’m also no gymnast but this book made me appreciate the sport and art form. Fantastic!

It’s a fine book with what could have been a great premise, but the romance is wildly flat and execution is lacking. The only character that felt believable (and that I really enjoyed) was Hallie, and that tracks because she’s supposed to act like she’s 16. Avery and Ryan had the chemistry of wet pasta and the decision making skills of a squirrel in the road.

Note: I received a free e-ARC of this book from NetGalley in exchange for my review.

I enjoyed this! Avery is a really great character and her storyline was well-crafted. The romance was cute and it all felt quite realistic, in part, unfortunately, due to the stories about the doctor and Dimitri. My only criticism is that I would've liked to see more of Avery's parents help fill out her part of the story and more characterization from Josh. I don't feel like we got to know him other than he was a great boyfriend. But, overall, a great cute gymnastics themed read.

I always enjoy Hannah Orenstein’s books and I’ve been a fan of hers since she worked for seventeen magazine. I don’t feel like this book was her best work. It was fun to read but I also had a hard time connecting or picturing what was happening with the characters. I’m proud of what she’s written because it does bring things to light that are relevant in today’s society with gymnastics and she does try to explain much of it. I just found that, not being a part of the gymnastics field myself, it was a bit confusing much of the time and there’s wasn’t enough romance in the book. It was missing something for me.
