I was very invested in this book and these characters. I was hoping it was going to be like Birthday Girl but with more. It wasn’t ahaha
Then I was thinking Aria and Mr. Fitz, there’s is closer.

The second scenes were hot, there chemistry was great. I loved the roommate too. Hated the parents.

And then the end happened and now I feel cheated! I don’t even want to read the second book because of how mad I am.

Holy mind fuck. I forgot I requested this and then briefly looked at book details before starting my ARC and it was way more than what I thought it would be.

We start out with Anne the FMC and her best friend Daisy. They are in the wealthy part of town looking for a hookup for money. (This part had some plot holes I felt like, it def seemed more hookerish than escort like just because of how it was described)

After that night we see that Anne and Daisy are in college and are roommates. They start their semester and who is Anne’s new comparative literature professor? The guy she slept with. He also happens to be her ex boyfriends dad

Ahh brace yourself for a book hangover and a cliffhanger! I finished this story two days ago and I’m still thinking about that ENDING!
Anne and Professor William are so well written that I’m still not sure what I believe! Their relationship is passionate, while shrouded in secrets and mystery. I would have never thought about creating a story with these parallels to Romeo and Juliet! I really have to applaud Skye on her creativity!
The side characters were fantastic! Daisy!!! Goodness, I need more on Daisy!! The secret society and its history added to the richness of the tale, and the parties…Everything was sinfully decadent and I loved it!
Why 4.5⭐️: There are lots of questions that have been set up and I won’t know until the end if they are answered!
I’ve read several books set in Tanglewood but this has me wanting to go back and start with Pawn!
Not to give anything away I will end with that I am anxiously waiting to know what happens next in this trilogy!
