wilde's approach to fairytales is so incredibly unique, and strangely, the cynicism really spoke to me. the way he incorporates commentary on the elitism of the upper class is so satisfying to read, as well as his insistence on rejecting the happily-ever-after trope (especially in the star-child!!). his prose is gorgeous, as always, I can't wait to read the canterville ghost next!

Beautifully written and I enjoyed it a little more then the happy prince but it was still nothing special. I also missed Wildes personal touch in this one

An interesting collection of moralistic stories. To be honest, I was a bit bored with the first three, but I really enjoyed the last one, 'The Star Child.' And, mostly, it was for the last line of the story, which I won't share so as not to spoil it.

Not quite as good as "The Happy Prince". The last two stories are the best in this collection

I didn't really like this book as much as I enjoyed The Happy Price and Other Tales. Everything else I'd like to say is listed in the previous comments by other users.

Not my favorite work of Wilde's (too much Christian overtones for me), but an entertaining afternoon read. Perturbing in the best way.

The sentences where to long for my liking. wasn't a fan of the writing style.
