I loved this book.  The two main characters were very believable flawed people who were trying to get it right.   I loved their friendship and banter that can only come from being friends for that many years.

The back and forth lasted a little too long for me. The MMC was the only reason I kept reading.

They’re best friends that have been in love with each other for at least a decade yet didn’t know!?! I don’t know. It’s hard to buy.

This book read like a schoolgirl’s daydream about her crush. If I was younger, I would definitely be all over this.

It’s pretty low stakes - small town spirit in a big city setting.

This book made me feel so giddy!! Just like a romance should! I love love love the way Sarah Adams writes romance- it’s so cute and fun and vulnerable.

⭐️⭐️🌶️ This is another one I should’ve just DNF’d but I honestly thought it would get better with how hyped it is.

* The banter felt forced or that they had to make something silly for every single conversation. Whether that was the characters flailing, making a joke or using silly names. The characters were too immature for my liking. I would understand more if they were high schoolers or even college students but no, these were grown ass adults.

* I feel like Nathan proposing out of nowhere at the Super Bowl that he lost felt really amiss. They had just had a conversation about not having sex until marriage, which is great if that’s what you want to do but proposing so you can get married literally ASAP (that night) so you can have sex immediately doesn’t sound like wanting to wait for the right reasons.

* The best part of the book was the narrators. They did great but unfortunately couldn’t make this story more than 2⭐️ for me.

* This was honestly a waste of my time. I’ve read 4 books by this author &unfortunately I just don’t think she’s my cup of tea. I’m glad others really enjoy her work. Side bar, I think her books should be YA, not romance. Not even for her romance being closed door, but strictly due to the character maturity levels.

Themes:
* Fake dating
* Friends to lovers
* Football romance
