I really loved this book even if I cried for the last 100 pages. It’s very reflective in that it shows why you need to live in the moment. This book felt very personal to me and I really enjoyed it.

This is Nicholas Sparks. We know what he will write, and he delivers. Of course there are parts that are predictable. Of course there are characters with emotional challenges and conflict. The magic of the story comes from the delivery and the characters to whom it is so easy to related. This delightful tales is gift wrapped and delivered with a bow. You will cry. You will experience joy. You will have hope. Just wonderful

I absolutely loved this book! I went through a rollercoaster of emotions throughout the whole book in the best way. I cried, laughed, and felt the love between Ronnie and Will even when they struggled. You will not regret reading this book and I recommend it to anyone. Be prepared to have tissues handy because I may have cried a little bit, but i have no shame in that because of moved this book made me feel. Sad that I finished it but glad that I experienced a heartfelt and endless love that the characters have for each other.

For some reason I did not enjoy this as much as I enjoyed the other Sparks novels. Maybe because this is a much modern version and the author's style might have changed a little bit?
There were some peculiar things I kept noticing in the book, like mixed voices. For example, the phrase "love you more than life itself" appeared as both from a dialogue and a narration. I think if it were used only in a single moment in the book it would have been better.
The characters were I guess real in their own sense, but for some reason there was something missing from them. I couldn't feel Ronnie's character connect to me, and honestly same with Will's.
I really liked the part of the Dad though, and how things unfolded. But I think the style of writing changed and I'm not sure how it would have been if it didn't change. I can't really point out exactly how it changed, but the voice is different. But still, it was a decent read.

Okay, this is the first Nicholas Sparks book I ever read. Keep that in mind while I explain why I didn't like this book while everyone else did.
Nicholas Sparks, is the kind of author that repeats his stories with different characters in a slightly different setting. I knew going into this book that I would probably know the ending, because his endings are basically the same in every book. Only a few are actually different and considered original.
Yet, I read it anyway.
This book was so slow. I had to renew it from the library twice and then it was still late. That's how long it took me to read this! It was about two months before I finally finished.
With that said, I didn't like the characters. Except the love interest. He was okay. At least he had somewhat depth to him. Everyone else was just annoying or unimportant to the story.

Das beste Nicholas-Sparks-Buch, das ich bisher gelesen habe. Ein schöne Liebes- und Familiengeschichte, aber definitiv nicht zu kitschig!

Reread. So I reread this as I own it still, but I could not remember how I felt about it originally. There's not much else to say really, it's a nice fluffy contemporary.
