This is the most emotional roller coaster I've ever been on
It gets very intense I love his writing style because you can relate the whole way through the book

This is probably my favorite Nicholas Sparks book. It has the timeless romance of The Notebook, but caters to a YA crowd. The movie is just as great as the book.

The plot seemed choppy and under-developed as well as many of the characters. Overall, it was entertaining enough but immature. So if you're looking for a shallow love(ish) story, this is good enough for a plane ride. If you are looking for more, I would not recommend this book.

Landing on three stars for this because if you're here for a heartbreaking father/daughter story that will have you crying uncontrollably- it's fantastic. But when it comes to the romance, it falls short. I'll admit I'm a little biased because I grew up watching, loving, and crying over this movie. The romance is less believable and insta-lovey in the book which should be the complete opposite, there should be way more development and emotion. Ronnie and Will interact a few times and are in love with each other after a few days. Then jump to the end of summer when all of the sad stuff starts happening. With the romance being the main plot point for over half the book I really just can't justify rating this any higher.

Props to Sparks though, because I haven't cried this hard since I read TFiOS.
