On a rainy night, Saki crashes into a girl while rushing to a piano lesson -- despite apologizing, the girl says nothing. The next day, Saki learns that the girl is her new classmate, Kanon, who is hard of hearing -- the two slowly form a friendship. Through small moments, we see Saki learn more about the hard of hearing community and Kanon opens up about her negative experiences in the past. I loved that the friendship wasn’t cut and dry but rather we see these two work things out and come together. Overall, a sweet, evolving read.

Thanks Netgalley and Kodansha Manga for the copy!

Another win for the "don't know anything about the book before reading" column.  I can't wait to read the rest!

Read chapters 1-4 on KManga.

Well-paced exposition and introduction. I like the inclusion of different methods of communication for hard-of-hearing people. I also like the overlap with music in this story. I hope more is done with that combination of story elements. The friendship/possible romance is very cute so far.

4.5 stars for a very beautiful girl's love manga!

The art for this one is incredibly pleasing and the pacing was perfect. For a first volume we got so much story and really got a strong sense of the two MC personalities. I think there is a ton of room to grow with this storyline and these two with possible side couples coming in to play as well.

I loved the representation in this one, it felt like the author has really done their research and the topics touched on were done so respectfully and really brought more depth to the characters. Ill absolutely be looking forward to volume 2!

I ADORED this one!!!!

It was cute and funny, recognizable and adorable, sweet and lovely.
It's a manga that focuses on a budding friendship and future romance (I think) between two high school girls.
The way their friendship grows is super cute and you can really see the characters grow towards each other and they also go through some personal growth.

Thank you NetGalley for the freebie as it was a "read now".

the way she was taught the sign for straight marriage, and then, when thinking about how she's a closeted lesbian who is developing feelings for her friend, she modifies the sign to represent lesbian marriage and asks why can't it be like that
