This is a fairly slow-paced story, but seeing as this reads like a slow-burn romance, the slow pace is perfect. Saki is an interesting character to read about. She is clearly trying to battle her emotions and trying to push down parts of her she doesn't want others to see while trying to remain "normal" outwardly. This is a girl who is clearly deep into the closet, living in a country whose society is still largely conservative. It's also sweet to see how hard she tries to treat Kanon fairly and try to work around any limitations she has. Kanon herself is an interesting character, but I feel like we don't learn too much about her, except for one hint of her past. The story is told largely through Saki's viewpoint, so it makes sense we only know as much as she would. I do really love that this story has a character who is hard of hearing, instead of completely deaf. I feel like most stories about deaf focus only on a person who is one hundred percent deaf, which leads a lot of people to think there's only one hundred percent hearing or one hundred percent deaf. There's a pretty big sliding scale between fully hearing and fully deaf, and a lot of people are on different parts of that scale. You can have hearing loss without being completely deaf, which is how Kanon is. I do wonder if the story will go more into depth about that in later volumes. The art style is very cute, but I admit some panels gave me pause. The way a few expressions were drawn, I instantly wondered if the artist had drawn H-manga before. (I looked them up. They have.) Nothing inappropriate! But when you're familiar with the trends in that sort of manga, you catch it instantly when you see even a whisper of it in a non H-manga. I honestly really like seeing Saki and Kanon's relationship slowing growing and blossoming into something more. I'll be seeking out the next volume!

The pictures were simple and the language was easy to understand.It was a cute book and I liked that there was a character that felt a little more special as that character had a variant of hearing loss. But I recommend it.

This was adorable and I loved it. I am a total manga nerd and yuri manga is my absolute favorite. I have read so many of them and I am constantly looking for more so when new ones come out I am always so excited.
