Slow, overly descriptive a lot of the time, kept coming back to miscommunication which is my least favorite trope. Characters kept making decisions based on their insecurities and not communicating at all and it barely changed by the end of the book which was incredibly frustrating. So much happened for almost nothing to happen.

This book dragged on way too much; I wished it was more to the point and enjoyable. The characters felt pretty shallow, and even their “complicated issues” were kinda predictable and didn’t hit deep.
They relied a lot on stereotypes for the characters and their sexuality, which was disappointing. Like, the bi/pan character was portrayed as all flippant about cheating, and the Catalonian lady was just cold and greedy, which felt old-fashioned and not cool.
The disabled character was frustrating too — always needing help and never wanting to do things on her own, not because she couldn’t but because she wouldn’t. Then magically, at the end, she’s all better just because she lost weight and got her man back. Honestly, I should have DNF’d this one.
But hey, it did help me tick off a box for my BookIt Bingo because it had “Summer” in the title. That’s about the only good thing I got out of it in the end.
