I’ve never found a main character THIS irksome 
Like seriously I cannot stand Alice. She’s soooooo dumb. I understand the purpose of her not reading situations or communicating AT ALL was the main theme to move the plot along? But, no. Find a more evolved way to create friction in the narrative. It was just too painful to read.

Besides that, I liked the idea of the story. The other characters were more lovable. I also really enjoyed the descriptions of the city. I spend a lot of time in Barcelona for work and the author did a great job capturing it. It was also a very unique way to POV switch between andy / alice, past / present respectively- and I enjoyed that. 

But Alice, is quite possibly the worst protagonist I’ve ever had the displeasure of living through the eyes of.
