2.75 - I thought I was going to love this book more than I did and yes, it is not a bad book at all, BUT it is not a great book especially in terms of its writing style, at least for my taste. I found the story intriguing and clever, but it didn't strike me as much as I hoped it would. Will I still continue the series? Very likely, I will, and hopefully, it will get better.

Fun fact: Wait a minute, Asimov was American? For some reason, I always thought he was Russian - because of his name, the photos I have seen of him, something I read about him that said that, etc. or was I just imagining it?

A truly masterpiece

A book with an interesting premise, but it really didn't grab hold of me.

just a bunch of men talking in rooms. i did miss hardin as soon as he was gone though

Anthologies, the bane of my existence, but credit where it's due this is the father of all Anthologies with a clear through-line that pushes you through each individual narrative regardless of the jarring resets.

I donno what to say, it's Foundation, one of the most ambitious narratives ever written. It's rough around the edges, each chapter filled with an absurd amount of exposition but with a concept compelling enough to keep you turning the page regardless. Not bad at all
adventurous tense slow-paced

The ideas are strong, the writing is fine. But it made me feel nothing.
medium-paced
funny hopeful inspiring reflective tense medium-paced

Starts good, but is too episodic for my tastes. The ideas are great, and every episode has something to think about, but the lack of continuity gets on my nerves.
