Another great addition to the series. Though the more books I go through, the more I dislike the protagonist.

I’m enjoying reading this series with its distinct approach, having the author be a character. I feel this book is weaker than the previous two though.

Way to much Horowitz, way to little Hawthorne, and a mystery that happens after almost 3 hours in and is solved in the last 30 minutes

I liked it. I did not love it. Horowitz can be so goooood! I love the series but ....meh!

Fun to listen to this one, though I didn't like the narrator (Rory Kinnear, maybe?) very much, especially for his women's voices. Having read a good number of Horowitz's books, I know he's pretty darn clever, so it's fun to see him put himself as the bumbler as he mixes fiction and real life. This one was pretty dark, ended darkly, and develops a very clear through-line for the next book, but it was a fun listen over December break.
