This was nothing extraordinary. I had high expectations from it considering it had the trope of deserted island in the middle of nowhere. But still a solid read.
Horowitz keeps leaving us clues about his detectives past. I have a feeling he's building up to the climax of the series.

Brilliant! Brilliant!! Brilliant!!!
I love Hawthorne and this entire series it's simply amazing and so unusual. Having the writer being a character in the book is such delicious experience.
With every new instalment we find out a bit more about Hawthorne as he is a private person and he shares so very little about him, much to the dismay of Tony.
A really mean person, no shortage of suspects and a wanna be clever yet very lazy detective who obviously needs help to solve this murder despite his arrogant opinion.
As much as I've enjoyed the book, I've especially loved the interview in the end with Anthony Horowitz who was talking about this series and so much more. He is equally wonderful and very interesting, a delight to hear him talking. It made me love these books even more and I can hardly wait for the next one.
I must add, that reading one of Anthony's books is such an exquisite pleasure. His writing style, the dialogues and the ingenious way Hawthorne is solving the mysteries are such a captivating and gratifying read.

Horowitz and Hawthorne are invited to a literary festival. The wealthy husband and wife sponsoring the event are murdered, they aren't well liked, lots of suspects. I really enjoyed this one, didn't know who did it until the reveal. Really enjoying the relationship between H and H , looking forward to the next book in the series. The specifics of the mystery won't stay with me but the MCs will! Overall, well written, good read.
Didn't like this one as much as the others, but still a great listen.
