I’m not quite sure how I feel about this book. I presume I understand the premise; she was so blinded by her biases and the men she thought she loved who didn’t actually love her that she was quick to project this on a particular individual in her quest to be right. She saw herself in those maidens, presumably blinded by a man who had evil intentions and was trying to save them because subconsciously she knew that the love of her life was not all he seemed. The pattern continued from her desperate need to be loved by her father to a blind almost consuming love for this man where she felt even in his death that their love was all she could contain.
I however felt that perhaps it was clouded by so many plot holes; what was the point of some of those characters? The chapters were so fast paced that we didn’t form any attachment to them. Why did the other maidens feel contempt towards the murdered ones? What was the point of Fred, other than a silly love interest or the nasty maid who spoke in third person? I feel perhaps it didn’t flow as well as it should have. I finished the book quickly but it left me wanting.

I liked this story but I feel like I needed the twist ending to be more fleshed out???

I was engaged in the book up until the end… when a 15 year was groomed by her step-father and was SA’d. Completely ruined it for me!!!
