The Silent Patient made me get into this psychological thriller genre and once I finished it I immediately found a bookstore in california to go buy his other book The Maidens. Overall, I liked The Maidens more than The Silent Patient because it was more of a page Turner and u had no idea who the murder was while in the other book u knew who it was just didn’t know why she killed him.
I had a theory that it was Zoe when she kept acting all frantic but honesty did not think it was going to be the answer… the ending was just so rushed that it made no sense how Sebastian was involved? He was set up as a gentle, warm character throughout the entire book who was DEAD first off,,, so then hearing that he had been grooming Zoe and planning to kill Mariana was SO RANDOM that there was not enough insight into this at the end. Alex Michialdses should have written about what happened when Mariana went and visited Zoe at the grove so readers could have had more of their questions answered.
ADDITONALLY!!! THEO FABER AND ALICIA MAKING AN APPEARANCE??? WTATTWTW that was so shocking I am so suprised but loved that so much! Probably my favorite part of the whole book.
Anyways, The Maidens is an amazing book and I highly recommend to everyone to read!!! I love this author so much❣️❣️❣️

It's been a while since I read and afraid I don't remember enough of it to give a decent review. I know it was a middling book for me, hence the 3 stars. I know I felt it could have been better which is a shame as I loved the whole idea of the book with it set in a university town with classic undertones, but it didn't really do it for me.
