Although a little ridiculous in plot, I still loved this.
Echo and Bane both plan to seduce their twin's to-be spouse to entrap them in marriage, but end up with each other unintentionally. Echo doesn't want to play second best to her twin, but Bane knows from the outset that this was the best possible outcome. We then follow their journey as Echo learns to open up herself and Bane allows someone else into his circle of trust.
As with the first story, The Midwinter Mail-Order Bride, there are some lovely converstaions in this about the difference between niceness and kindness. Some scenes, such as the carriage scene, were a little too ridiculous for me, but even then I still found this an enjoyable read.
