I enjoyed Zatanna and Bruce's story and of course Ace's story was cute but there's a lot of violence in these stories that feels really unnecessary. While I love this series and I'm excited to see more, this story in particular felt very uncomfortable.
Zatanna's story is very weird. In this she and Bruce had known each other since they were young and tied their sould together. This feels weird for a multitude of reasons one being she has been in relationships with Dick before. I understand her age has changed and usually she's dating Constantine so she is Bruce's age but it still feels weird and bad. Plus, they are just weirdly forced into this relationship that makes Superman question Bruce. It's weird and I'm not excited about this story.
Eternity was also just weird. There's not a lot of substance to the story other than the unknown and also the fact that a woman is murdered in the end. It felt really sexist.
The Wight Witch's story is equally as sexist. I know these stories aren't finished, but the fact that all we know about her in the end of this issue is that she trained with Bruce, and then was taken in as an assassin to make clones of her only to kill then all when the complete her missions is gross. It really rubbed me the wrong way.
Ace's story was probably the best, but also the amount of times Ace was in danger stressed me out and it's only a handful of pages.
Overall this issue felt like a lot of violence for no reason or pay off and I just really wanted more from this
