I think I like this sequel slightly more than The Wonderful Wizard of Oz because of all the puns and sarcasm!

Cute!
A very charming little book. I will admit I read it after acknowledging I should get more into the Oz books after reading the Dorothy Must Die series (having only read the first Oz book). However, it is clear to me that I have grown out of this series by a long way and while it was charming it clearly wasn't for me any longer. However, if you like Oz it is something that I would recommend.
This was a cute little story. The flying creature was pretty ridiculous, but in a good way. I definitely didn’t see the twist of Tip being Ozma coming. It’s funny to think of the absolute uproar there would be if that were adapted into a film today, even though it was apparently accepted when the novel came out. I think it just proves kids can and always have been able to understand gender concepts. Anyway, I’m looking forward to reading about Ozma and Dorothy the next time I venture into Oz!
Lots of fun and wildly ahead of its time, with . I love the attention Baum pays to how things are done and the mundane even in the midst of the fantastic.

I liked it almost as much as the first one. It is a little silly, but it's a fairytale so a little silliness is to be expected. Also, love seeing that the author was a feminist before his time!
I don't know what to say i know this world has inspired movies, theater, songs and much much more. I can also see as a young child i may have enjoyed it a lot more, and to have this kind of imagination when the book was published was incredible.
But....
The book felt like a trip, I felt i had fallen into someones head who had to many special cigarettes, or biscuits, i jumped from one place to another with flowers turning to women, Woggle bugs (im still not sure what this is) boys turning to girls......
I did love how characters had thoughts and came to conclusions... that makes the book unique... But the world a bit to dizzy for me.
