This book was one of the best books I've read! It explains in a very high-stakes way the struggles that minorities face in our society. It's very thrilling and enlightening all at once. The protagonists, Chiamaka and Devon, are the only black kids at a white school. Throughout the book, their secrets are being exposed by this mysterious person 'Aces'. The book is a very fast-paced book and kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. I would definitely recommend it.

This book got so dark so fast. I didn’t expect to get this shaken up by it.
It starts out all typical highschool-ly but diverts into an evil gossip school in no time.
It was fascinating watching the two main characters trying to cope with all the secrets that come out. They come from very different backgrounds and handle the whole Situation very differently.
I had to shut my copy of the book multiple times because I couldn’t handle some characters actions anymore. It stressed me out so much. All the twists and secrets that are uncovered are mind blowing.
This book is amazing. I can’t recommend it enough. But please beware of the trigger and content warnings!

I read this book in one sitting. Starting it at 11pm was a mistake, since I was too creeped out to put it down and go to sleep. I’ve learned I don’t like creepy books, though I can tell the book certainly achieved everything it hoped to achieve. I didn’t love the way the book wrapped up, since certain twists felt predictable and tiring, but for the most part it certainly kept me intrigued and on the edge of my seat.

i really enjoyed the book, it was super gripping and the social commentary was powerful. my biggest issue was the pacing, i felt that once things were revealed, the book ended super quickly. i thought it could have been a bit longer, so the plot could be more balanced.
