I really enjoyed this book. I like the history behind it. Overall the characters were good, but I felt the girls were a little stereotyped. **spoiler follows** When Skye is returned to her adult form, she exclaims to the Ellring "I have boobs!" Sorry, but boobs are not that exciting to girls as they are to men. That would not be my first comment, and that line disappointed me. **end spoiler**
You can learn a lot about the author and his/her writing style by the first sentence in their book. This story has a very good hook-and-reel-you-in first sentence that conveyed humor and intrigue.
Overall a fun read with interesting twists and turns and revelations, mystical settings, and magical means of travel. I think there could be a lot more in store for these characters, and I would excitedly read another book in this series.
