A dark romantasy twist on the Authorian tale from Morgan’s perspective. A bit slow to get started but an eventful ending that makes me wish I already had book 2 ready!

I really liked the concepts in this book. It really felt like it had do much potential but imo it fell flat in every way. The writing and pacing were decent at the start, but about 60% in the grammar started to drop off and the pacing slowed down a lot for me.
when I finished the book I was so angry about the Morgan's complete lack of agency that I couldn't s op thinking about rhe book. There is literally no point in which Morgan makes an active choice or takes any action. Eg not drinking the potion (Draven threw it away), leaving (Draven made that happen), killing Florian (self preservation but is debatable), loving/liking Vesper (he enchanted her), etc.
It's not for me. The plot and 'character development' were predictable (and I almost never make predictions while reading), which is so disappointing!

I thoroughly devoured this book! It gave me From Blood and Ash vibes from the start which is also one of my favorite series.
There are lots of little twists and turns that caught me off guard which is rare for me!

This book was surely a wonderful breath of fresh air to read and I am so excited to get started into it. I could set this book down from the moment I opened it up. I LOVE that this story is loosely based off of King Arthur.
This was a great page turner. The world building in the book and character development/dialogue was superb. The magic was wonderful as well as the mixes of action. I devour up fantasy. If you love an enemies to lovers, one bed, mythical creatures/magic—this book is a must read on everybody’s TBR.
