Churchill es un interesante personaje de la historia moderna que siempre me fascinó. Es por eso que decidí leer este libro y la verdad, no me decepcionó. Por momentos uno se da cuenta de que el autor le atribuye ciertas cualidades a Churchill que parecen ficticias (y muy probablemente lo sean). A pesar de eso, si uno puede discernir qué es cierto y qué no, la biografía es entretenida e interesante.

Dit is een simpele maar tevens briljante biografie van Churchill. Haffner schrijft mooi en beknopt, maar laat niks onbenoemd. Aan het eind van het boek weet je wie Churchill is en hoe zijn leven en dat van Hitler aan elkaar bevonden waren. Een aanrader.

Even biographies of minor figures are often extended volumes with lots of pages and unimportant details. This book shows what an effective biography can be like; concise, to the point, very well written and lacking trivial details (I don't now know what Churchill's favorite color was, o no!). And Churchill by no means had a boring, uneventful life, making it even more of an accomplishment to cram it all into a slim book. Photographs and small asides on relevant other people or occurences round of this great book.
