Absolutely amazing! I must have been living under a rock because I SHOULD HAVE READ THIS AGES AGO!
This was such a magical continuation of the descendants of Alice from the story we grew up with.
I will be adding this to my favorites and my Wonderland collection. Definitely a must read if you are Wonderland obsessed like me.

I was excited to start Splintered, because I have a weak spot for retellings and the cover is just so gorgeous. I mean wow, I really love it!
Unfortunately, I can't say the same about the story itself. I couldn't connect with any of the characters. Alyssa couldn't spark my interest and it bothered me how much she stumbled. Really, you trip over your feet every time you need to run away?! Ugh ... And then there's Jeb and Morpheus, uhm, yeah, I wasn't waiting for these guys. I couldn't help but roll my eyes every time one of them was showing off to win Alyssa's heart. Really? I didn't expect another (weak) love triangle. Booooring.
I thought the plot didn't have enough motives to make some characters act a certain way. It wasn't believable to me. I found myself asking the same question over and over: "Why is Alyssa doing this or that?"
Lastly, I thought things went a bit too smoothly at the end. So I'm not convinced to read the sequels.
Sad to say this book wasn't my thing. I expected much more from it.

I just felt so much nostalgia reading this because, this is the book that introduced me to reading. I just feel so much joy to have complete it and love it just as much now as I have all those years ago. Before going into this book for my first reread since I was 13, I remembered each of these characters distinctly. They weren’t muddled and washed out but alive and third dimensional.
This book was published in 2013 when diversity wasn’t really a thing so in this reread I went into knowing exactly what I was gonna get. And as a 13 year old just exploring novels and literature for the first time, I didn’t understanding how significant diversity and representation was to me like I do now as a almost 19 year old in the media and books I consume. A straight, white cast of characters. Okay fine.I can deal.
This story is easy to follow and the characters are so well rounded and flushed out it’s like they’re practically popping out of the pages. It’s so weird, whimsical and otherworldly it’s unlike any book I’ve ever experienced before. Because holy hell was this an experience. I felt like I was Alyssa. I can appreciate a relatable character. It doesn’t seem too far fetched and unattainable. I loved the assortment of characters
This book gets a glowing 5 stars from me because I flipping love it. I remember liking the characters when I first read the story. However, now I’m in love with them. I loved the array of weirdness and quirky Wonderland creatures and just the entire vibe I got from Wonderland. A perfectly peculiar blend between lightheartedness and darkness. And so much Morpheus swooning

This book started off so good. It pulled me right in. A creepy, twisted, Gothic retelling of Alice in Wonderland? Um hell yes. Too bad it turned out to be a big hell no. By the end of the book I was completely confused, and wondering what in the world just happened?
Honestly I am not the biggest fan of Alice in Wonderland, so when my husband picked out this series I was a little hesitant that I would enjoy it. However I brought it to my book club to make sure that I would get it read. It was riveting and truly inventive. I have never been so happy to be proven I had nothing to worry about while reading this. Such a fun read that I read the whole series in a matter of a week.
uh-oh. nope. I didn't like it.
I like my childhood version better. I really had trouble accepting Alyssa cared so much about her love interest(s?)

I thoroughly enjoyed this Alice in Wonderland retelling, better than most Alice retellings!
3.5. I really loved A. G. Howard’s take on Alice in Wonderland and her writing. Now the romance not so much. Jeb made me roll my eyes a few times.
