Entertaining and lighthearted story with an interesting take in shape and form. I loved to read the author’s note at the end. My impression is that her intention to bring women to the center of a story in a male-dominated context worked out well.

This book was really good and I'm dying to listen to the audiobook now. The book seemed to be about Daisy and Billy,
but Camila was there, underpinning everything. I cried when she died,
and I felt for every character. I hated them all, then loved them, it was a whirlwind but it was sad, and I loved it.

Warren was so funny man like he had me giggling and shit haha, reading a book about a character with my name and we couldn’t be more different but it was fun. My faves were Karen and Graham, I really loved them and their story felt sort of blurry at the end there, exactly like that scene with Graham - I was going huh wait that’s all, that’s that?! I have read so many subpar books lately that this one really hit me. Maybe it wasn’t as good as I rated it but for me right now it’s what I needed. Something flirty, heavy, rock and roll drama-y. Can’t wait for the show even though it ain’t gonna be like this book 😩 Gonna listen to some Daisy Jones and the Six Spotify plays lists now hehe

Now that I’ve taken a couple hours to process I'm more critical lol - one funny thing was that I was so nervous Pete was gonna die and then it just ended up he didn’t want to say anything my turf god, wish the conflict between Graham and Billy had been seen through, like at the end there he gets pissed at Billy - Graham  finally confronts Billy to talk about his problems and he just gets brushed off and goes back to his room to have that awkward final hug with Karen and then Billy has this life confirming moment with a stranger? No brotherly energy whatsoever, Graham could’ve been made his HS buddy and I don’t think it would effect anything. Also cop out that Billy gets both women by the end of it, yes it’s loose ended but we know Daisy and Billy will rekindle their dying ~flames~, does this man really deserve both, loved Camila’s moment abt her HS romance though

I technically read this book twice in a week. I listened to the audiobook and just knew I needed the physical copy so I could have this story in my hands.

The characters are so raw and real. I haven’t lived close to the lives they have, but I related to so many of them on so many levels. They almost all had quotes that I felt reverberate on my soul. I don’t think this is a book I could ever forget about. I even messaged my best friend saying I just wished that I could live in that world a little longer.

The story is beautiful, and heartbreaking. But the writing, the format; it’s pure eloquence. It’s so unique. Unlike anything I’ve ever read before.

I really suggest the audiobook as well though. The full cast truly brings the story to life. The emotions are so raw in their voices it just hits that much harder.

This is absolutely incredible as an audiobook, and probably a good place to start for someone who likes podcasts but hasn’t tried audiobooks.

If you’re okay with character driven books that really delve into the human psyche you’ll like this one, but if you need more plot, more things happening outwardly this might not be the story for you. My first five star of the year, loved it!
Knowing that ultimately things probably don’t work out in the end (because the premise is a book about a band that was around in the 70’s), but trying to figure out, “what was the tipping point?” makes this story so much more intriguing.
Ultimately, what made this a five star listen for me was the fact that it doesn’t really leave any lingering questions at the end. Everything is pretty much answered, except for maybe one tiny thing that someone requests in the last chapter.
