This is an somewhat interesting edition to the Magnus Chase saga as it adds context one how Rick Riordan is choosing to use Norse mythology in his works, but also it doesn’t truly add much if the reader knows about the mythology already. It’s not a story as much as the other spin off books are.

This was fiiine it just didn’t feel that special to me.
As an example, there weren’t any colorful character pages which other guidebooks have had. That would’ve been cool.
ALSO he uses different names for Norse beings in this book and in the normal series which seems like it should be an easy fix, and yet it wasn’t caught.
