This one can be a conundrum for me. While I do consider it a worthy successor to the first in many ways I also feel it comes up a little short in some areas. Firstly the things I like. We keep all the great characters from the first novel and are introduced to several new ones as well who are all great, no problems there. The lore gets a fair bit deeper which is always appreciated as this is an extremely interesting world. There is quite a large amount of development of major plot lines and characters which gets two thumbs up from me. Just the things I like about it alone made for a very enjoyable read so it’s definitely worth the time. However there were some things I noticed. The overall main plot doesn’t have a whole lot really happen that’s all that substantive until the last act. Again much like the first the events of the final act come out of nowhere and feel a bit rushed. That is my only real criticism though. Not quite as good as the first to me but still a very worthy sequel.

I know people hate on Stephenie Meyer but I really liked the series and especially this book. I love the best friend, maybe more dynamic they have. Angst is lovely lol.
