Yes this was another puzzle audiobook listening and no the puzzle isn’t even close to being finished! I don’t think I gave anyone a decent review of this series last review so here we go!

The first two books in this series are a very easy read with very characters that draw you in! Jon Reznick is the quintessential post-military man you could want in a thriller like these. Him and FBI Assistant director Martha Meyerstein make an incredible duo. This story ended with a very surprising and satisfying ending! I thought it was going to be super predictable but well done Mr. turner with that ending. I recommend to anyone who’s read the first book and likes puzzles

I received this as a review copy, and I really wanted to like it. However, I really struggled with suspension of disbelief. There is a lot of confusion about which agencies do various types of intelligence and law enforcement work, and I found this really distracting. Pacing is good, plot is fine, but for me, the devil is in the details.

Love this series

I really enjoyed the first book of this series a lot. I enjoyed this one a bit less as it was a slow build to the action but once things got moving (about 50% in) I couldn't put it down.

This book started out SO SLOW. At times it felt like the plot wasn't moving. But about halfway through, the pace picked up and I enjoyed it to the end. I don't think I will read any more of these, just because crime novels don't seem to be my thing. If you enjoy crime novels, I think you'd like it more than I did.
