instant 5 stars from me. the writing is good, its fast, but not without making u feel dumb. lots of information and characters to keep track of, but its easy. i truly love the writing, i finished 200 pages in one sitting. the author writes in a way that makes u crave for more, and wouldnt mind staying up late. the plot are amazing. it keeps me on my toes, never really guessing whats going to happen next. i did not see the end coming tho, i cried a lot towards the end. overall, i really rec this book.

Perhaps I’ll revisit this in the future since it’s gotten such good reviews, but I had trouble getting drawn into the story and am not sure it’s just a matter of needing to give the story more time to develop.

This book was quite the undertaking. The world building is excellent, and I love the characters. The single POV is much appreciated, too. I really didn't get into the story until about 50% - switched to the audiobook after 20%, and that helped. The ending took a bit of a twist that I wasn't expecting (and am not usually a fan of), so we will see how that goes for book 2.

Started slow and lots of character names, but I just went with. There is a glossary in the back of characters and words which I really appreciate in a book like this. 600 plus pages but I didn't feel like it was a long book and yes the ending.... I had to re-read the last few pages to make sure I was getting what had happened. And now I must order book two.
