Everything seemed really compressed and like plot points and/or developments were missing. It needed to be fleshed out more in additional edits. But such a great foundation and hoping later installments in the series are better developed.

I loved the concept of this book! I loved Ivan and Solange! They work together so well! I was entertained the entire book! I just wish we got more! I felt the book was a little short so the romance felt a little rushed and underdeveloped.

Myself included, you are stupid to think that you will not be sucked into an assassin mafia boom. Such a good escape boom. Again, the kids’ series after this is too crazy but somehow this series stays within the realm of acceptable crazy.

Wish it was a bit longer and that there were more interactions between Sloane and Ivan so I could see more of their chemistry. However it was a very good book, very enjoyable. I recommend!

One was one of the most memorable and interesting reads in the mafia world - short standalone books
The story and the characters were written in a very interesting way and right on the point, no useless things were said just to fill lines.

Although I do appreciate the fast pace, the relationship felt rushed since it did include trust not just lust. so I think it would have made more sense and more brilliant to have a deeper dig into the main characters' relationship, background bonding, etc.
It would have made them have a more concrete believed relationship to us -the readers.

Sophie Lark did it again. I don't think she can write something I won't love!!
I was absolutely in love with Ivan and Sloane from the first few chapters. There is something so refreshing about seeing a badass female lead who doesn't need to rely on a man. It also makes things so much better when she shows that vulnerability she doesn't let anyone else ever see.
The things holding this back from a 5 star rating was the pacing seemed a bit off. There was a lot of buildup for things to explode in the last 20%. I would have preferred more sprinkled throughout the story.
Overall? An amazing read! Onto book 2!
