DID NOT FINISH

Didn't engage me.

I love the Big Stone Gap series, so there was no way I couldn't love this book. I'm just sad I have to say goodbye to all the characters who, after almost a year of reading, seem so real. I hope Trigiani does end up making this into a film!

As with the other books in the series, there are lots of good recipes, hilarious anecdotes about local theatre, travel writing, and just the right amounts of romance and nostalgia. So far, this is my favorite chick lit. series.

Is it crazy that I'd love to visit Big Stone Gap? Yeah, it's crazy.

Being somewhat local to the area where the story takes place, I think I enjoyed that aspect of the book more than the overall story itself. The romance especially for me didn't work. I didn't feel their chemistry much at all. I also think I enjoyed the movie better. I think it smoothed out some of the things I didn't like about the book, though I would have to rewatch it to be sure.

That being said, I still might read the second book, as I heard it was even better. We'll see.

Not much for suspense, but a good book to leisurely read and get lost in.

It was a good conclusion to a whimsical series of books.

I truly enjoyed this book. It was an enjoyable, easy, entertaining read. I will probably read the next one.

The story was cute and I'm going to read the other books in the series. But the narrator for this book on CD was TERRIBLE.

I lived in this part of the country for a while and the characters brought back fond memories.

This was a very fun book to read. I just loved all of the characters. It was a quick, light read. Great for a weekend.

Chick lit at its best!
