As in Emma Cline's [b:The Girls|26893819|The Girls|Emma Cline|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1492065338l/26893819._SY75_.jpg|42856015], The Lightness is a story where a woman looks back at that one time when she was a teenager and coped with her parents' divorce by experimenting with cults and older men. Also as in The Girls there's a lot of nonsense that I think I'm supposed to take as profound but I cannot and in the end nothing truly off the wall happens, despite the cults and older men.
